I'm surprised it ever got built.

The interior (Belk Theater) is not unlike Davies Hall in San Francisco, so maybe the hall itself is sufficiently grand and acoustically sound to merit our gratitude without losing our objectivity.

The Oslo hall is gorgeous.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4841621121670566347.post-91490893834216826082012-02-29T22:53:15.266-05:002012-02-29T22:53:15.266-05:00I have to say I'm confused as to what the basi...I have to say I'm confused as to what the basis of this article was. Was it about the new library at NC State or Snohetta's experience? The tagline suggests it's about NC State. If so a image of the library in the blog would have been nice as it is a dramatic design.

As for going out of State, as many have commented on, he doesn't mention that Snohetta is the "design" architect and not the "lead" & "production" architect. That firm is Pearce Brinkley Cease + Lee out of Raleigh & Asheville. (BTW - 7 of the 9 principals are graduates of NC State)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4841621121670566347.post-18437188507061792092012-02-29T21:21:27.171-05:002012-02-29T21:21:27.171-05:00Doesn't NC State have an architecture school?Doesn't NC State have an architecture school?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4841621121670566347.post-45708128401279257102012-02-29T19:53:22.864-05:002012-02-29T19:53:22.864-05:00Jenn - agree totally. We have imaginative architects here, believe it or not.

That's what's "horrible" about this story.Archiguyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13402271358568917397noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4841621121670566347.post-91387607649990150612012-02-29T18:38:52.866-05:002012-02-29T18:38:52.866-05:00What's horrible exactly? (That being said, if I were an NC State architecture grad I'd be pretty offended they picked someone from Norway to design this.)JennAMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06146956892832174530noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4841621121670566347.post-44397005641577338562012-02-29T18:01:48.019-05:002012-02-29T18:01:48.019-05:00horrible!horrible!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
